This falconry taster session is a wonderful way to get a very close encounter with our Birds of Prey! Meet and handle a small variety of our birds of prey before heading to Heather's Coffee Shop next door for a delicious cake and hot drink all included in the price! Don't forget to grab some photographs of your new feathered friends to show all your friends and family. A perfect treat for someone you love or why not treat yourself!

OWL EXPERIENCE

The ultimate experience for Owl lovers! Join us to handle, fly and learn all about different species of owls and their amazing abilities. You will meet many species of owls from our tiny Indian Scops owl, to our huge Eurasian Eagle owl and of course there are the British Barn owls and Tawny owls too. Throughout the experience you will have the unforgettable chance to meet and handle the owls, ask questions and take photographs to capture all those special moments. You will even have the chance to fly one of these beautiful creatures yourself!

Our Bird of Prey Encounter offers you the chance to come face to face with some of natures most impressive creations! You will meet several species of owls, as well as a hawk and a falcon. As well as having the chance to handle the different birds and photograph them, you will also have the opportunity to fly one! An unforgettable experience and perfect for all bird lovers.

FALCONRY DAY

Ever wanted to become a falconer for the day? Well now you can! Learn how we care for the birds and just what's involved in training them. You will meet and handle a range of birds like our stunning Goshawk, our adorable Owls, our super smart Hawks and the incredible size and power of our Eagle owls. As well as handling many species of owls, hawks and falcons, you will also be flying them! There will also be plenty of photo opportunities to capture those special moment. You will be sure to leave with some interesting facts and a favourite of course!  Includes refreshments.

ULTIMATE PREDATOR EXPERIENCE

Duration: 90 minutes bird handling followed by lunch   Price: £99 pp

This unique experience is a fantastic way to get up close and personal with 4 top raptor predators. You'll meet and feed our curious and intelligent Vultures, Bones & Reaper, who will leave you feeling very differently about Vultures and their incredible importance in our natural world. Then it's off to meet our Eagle Owls who are the largest species of owl in the world and top of their food chain, after holding them you'll certainly see why! Our charming Harris Hawks are unique in the bird world in that they actively hunt in organised family groups, earning their nickname 'Wolves of the Sky'. As well as handling our Harris Hawks you will also have the opportunity to fly him directly to your gloved hand! Finally, you'll get to meet and handle Buckbeak our young Steppe Eagle. Endangered in the wild and with numbers still decreasing, he will not only leave you in awe of his size and power, but you'll also leave with a greater understanding of their plight in the wild. To cap a memorable experience, you will also be given a lunch voucher to redeem at Heather's Coffee Shop right next door.

MEET THE ANIMALS

Duration: 1 hour

This unique experience will allow you to meet and interact with some of our amazing animals. Each animal that calls the centre home has its own story which we would be delighted to share with you. During the experience you may find out about the quirky personality of Alejandro our Hairy Armadillo and his incredible adaptations. You may also get to say hello to some of the rarer animals like Kylo Ren the Silver Fox or Twinkle the Tenrec. As well as meeting our amazing animals, you'll get an insight into the conservation and rescue work that our talented team of keepers undertake. From snakes to skunks and owls to foxes, you'll meet a fantastic selection of animals that are guaranteed to steal your hearts.

Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult. We are not able to accommodate spectators on this experience. Animals are selected on the day, unfortunately although we always do our best, we cannot guarantee requests of specific animals or species. Long sleeves & trousers and sensible footwear recommended. JUNIOR KEEPER EXPERIENCE

Duration: 2.5 hours

The junior keeper experience is an exciting half day experience designed for children aged 8-15 and is perfect for animal lovers or those considering a zookeeping career. But be warned, you will be expected to join in with the cleaning too, just like a real zookeeper! The morning will start with feeding some of our mammals their breakfasts which may include foxes, skunks and ferrets. Once everyone is fed and clean, we will move onto giving our birds of prey their morning exercise. You'll slip on a falconers glove and call our owls to your outstretched hand, a truly unforgettable experience! Finish the day by meeting and handling some of our educational contact animals including rodents, reptiles and Alejandro the armadillo!

RARE AND ENDANGERED SPECIES EXPERIENCE

Duration: 2 hours

This unique experience will allow you to meet and closely interact with some of the endangered species that call NSBOPC home. Starting with hot drinks on arrival, our dedicated animal keepers and conservationists will brief you about the morning and answer any questions you may have. Then it's onto some close encounters with our animals! You will meet and handle an endangered species of owl and falcon learning about their wild cousins on the way. Then it's time to set up in size with our Steppe eagle, Buckbeak - handle him and feed him his lunch - if you are feeling brave enough! Onto some of the centre's rarer animals with our Corsac foxes (we are only one of five U.K. zoos to house these tiny foxes!), our Binturong (is it a bear, is it a cat?! find out whilst feeding him his favourite treat - bananas!) and our armadillo, Alejandro! Finally, there is the option to handle our Hog Island Boa, Pandora (if you are not a fan of snakes feel free to decline but she really is exceptional and the story of how they were brought back from the edge of extinction is one not to miss)

Learning all about our endangered species and having up close interactions is something rather special, but you will also be safe in the knowledge that you will be directly helping their wild cousins. With every experience purchased, 10% is donated directly to ABConservation who are the only association in the world entirely dedicated to the study and protection of Binturongs.

ZOOKEEPER FOR THE DAY

Duration: 5 hours

Price: £299 for one person or £399 for two people

During this experience we can offer you the unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of a zookeeper, but be warned, you will also be expected to join in with the cleaning too! Help our keepers prepare the animals daily diets and learn a little more about each of their needs. We will then head out to feed some of our mammals their breakfasts which may include foxes, binturong, raccoons, skunks and ferrets. After a morning of feeding the animals, its time to feed you so we stop for lunch at Heathers Coffee Shop next door. It's then onto the birds and time to give some of them their daily exercise. You'll slip on a falconers glove and call our raptors to your gloved hand. A truly unforgettable experience! More feeds to be completed in the afternoon followed by some fun enrichment activities for some of the zoos animals. We finish the action packed day by introducing you to some of the educational contact animals which may include rodents, reptiles and an armadillo! This is a private experience.
